A kitchen designed by Artisan Studio CT, with a marble island and custom cabinetry
Kitchen & home design · Connecticut shoreline

A kitchen that works as beautifully as it looks.

You have the inspiration. Claudia Santangelo turns it into a plan: layout, cabinetry, counters, tile and lighting, decided together and designed around your home and the way you live.

Two minutes with Claudia

Inspiration isn't a plan.

How Claudia takes a folder of saved photos and turns it into decisions that work together, before anything is ordered.

Before you order anything

Cabinets. Counters. Tile. Plan them together.

Most remodels are decided one piece at a time: a cabinet color here, a countertop there. Each choice can look right on its own and still not work in the room. The expensive mistakes happen when decisions are made separately.

One designer, one plan, every finish chosen with the others in mind. That's the difference.

How working with Claudia works

Your vision, developed for your space.

01

First conversation

Talk through your project, your home and how the process works. Bring your saved photos and what frustrates you about the space today.

02

Design proposal

If you'd like to go ahead, Claudia prepares a proposal for your project that sets out the design work it needs and the design fee.

03

Design work

Layout, storage, lighting and flow are worked out around your home. Cabinetry, counters, tile, hardware and lighting are chosen side by side, including in the Guilford showroom, before anything is ordered.

Designed around how you actually live.

A routine

A mudroom for a gardener

The client wanted to come in from the garage and have a place for her shoes and coat. She gardens a lot, so she also wanted a sink where she could wash her hands on the way in. Claudia designed a small mudroom area with both.

A constraint

A pipe to design around

A pipe ran from under the floor into the wall, and it had to be hidden. Claudia's idea was to add an arch and box it in. The clients first pictured just a simple countertop; her drawing showed how the arch would work with the stained cabinetry, stone countertop and brick tile tied to the accent wall.

Tell us about your project.

A few quick questions help Claudia understand what you're planning before your first conversation. It takes about a minute. Not sure about budget or timing yet? That's normal; just say so.

How does design pricing work?

After a first conversation about your project, Claudia prepares a design proposal that sets out the design work and its fee.

Is the design fee part of my project budget?

No, they're separate. The design fee pays for Claudia's design work. Your project investment is what you spend on construction, cabinetry, materials and installation. The investment range in the form refers to the project, not the design fee.

I only have saved photos and a rough idea. Is that enough?

Yes. That's exactly where most projects start. Bring your inspiration and your priorities, and Claudia helps turn them into a plan that works in your actual space.

I'm not sure about budget or timing yet. Should I still get in touch?

Yes. Choose "Not sure yet" or "Just exploring" in the form. Understanding what a project involves is part of what the first conversation is for.

What happens after I send the form?

The studio reviews your details and contacts you to talk through your project and the next step. Nothing is booked or charged by sending the form.

Can I see materials in person?

Yes. The Guilford tile and stone showroom is part of the process, so you can see and compare finishes together before anything is ordered.

Which towns do you serve?

Mainly Guilford, Madison, Old Lyme and Killingworth, and also Branford, Clinton, Westbrook and Old Saybrook. If you're somewhere else, include your town and the studio will let you know whether it can help.
